Plymouth (6 miles by car ferry from Torpoint) offers a great day out and many delights including the marine aquarium, the famous Hoe, the Barbican and numerous shops and restaurants. To the west, the fishing harbours and interesting little shops of picturesque Looe and Polperro are a must to visit. Canoeing, horse riding, sea fishing and excellent walking on the coastal path are all found nearby as is Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, whilst for the young at heart, go karting is available near Liskeard (15 minutes' drive). There is a hotel and bar 300 yards away and the local pub is a half mile walk uphill. Shops 5 miles.
