Situated only 2½ miles from the Solway coast and only 5 miles from a sandy beach, the cottages are ideally placed for exploring the beautifully undulating coastal countryside rich in flora and fauna – also a haven for bird watchers. The Wildlife and Wetland Trust at nearby Caerlaverock has plenty to see and do, complete with nature trails for the children whilst the Drummuir Farm Ice Cream Parlour is also worth a visit. The town of Dumfries is only 5 miles away which has a variety of everyday shopping for all of your holiday needs. Alternatively nearby Gretna has a shopping complex along with the famous Old Blacksmith’s shop - one of Scotland’s oldest visitor attractions.
