![Green Badge Award]()
Broadland Holiday Village proudly sports our Green Badge, as a park planned and run with the environment in mind. It earns its credentials in the following key areas:
Energy Efficiency energy saving light bulbs are used. The park has some new cavity wall insulation and the double glazing programme is on going. New caravan purchases have extra insulation and double grazing. The lodges on the park are very well insulated and the swimming pool cover is new.
Recycling glass banks are in use for guests and the clubhouse. Oil from the clubhouse is also recycled and paper bins are available for use.
Water Conservation the toilets have dual flush cisterns. There are water butts for storing rainwater for the plants.
Social Practices The park participates in the 'Lowestoft in Bloom' competition and has won two second places. The park also has active members of Oulton Broad Enterprise, promoting and maintaining Oulton Broad and is in partnership with East Suffolk Community Rail, planting up the local railway station.
Wildlife with the park running down to the 'Broad' wildlife is in abundance. One area is left to nettles and wild grass for a diversity of wildlife. There are bird nesting boxes on the park and the perimeter hedgerows are thick and dense.
Purchasing Policy where possible products are sourced from local suppliers to minimise the use of transport.
