Gwel an Mor Luxury Lodges proudly sports our Green Badge, as a park planned and run with the environment in mind. It earns its credentials in the following key areas:
Energy Efficiency low energy light bulbs are used, LED lights are used where possible, timers and light sensitive switches control lighting. Category 'A' appliances are in the lodges. Golf buggies are used as site transport to reduce emissions. There is no natural gas on the park and 'bio' fuel is used in vehicles.
Recycling bottles, plastic, cans, paper, and card are recycled. The park composts in order to create their own organic compost for the gardens.
Social Practices Gwel an Mor has a booklet recommending local restaurants, pubs and village shops to their guests. Local small businesses are used for maintenance. The park sponsors the local surf lifesaving club and local rugby teams as well as supporting the harbour regeneration fund.
Wildlife the park has an educational program in place for children and adults including a wildlife walk and quiz.
Building Practices conservational and ecological surveys have been carried out by the park before any development of the site has taken place.
Purchasing Policy all produce is purchased from local shops. Only cleaning products that are safe for the environment are used.
