Sand-Le Mere proudly sports our Green Badge, as a park planned and run with the environment in mind. It earns its credentials in the following key areas:
Energy Efficiency staff have attended a course by Envirowise and Carbon Trust. Low energy light bulbs and plug timers are used. Caravans are ordered which have extra insulation and double glazing to help preserve energy.
Recycling large bins are provided for visitors to recycle paper, plastic and cans
whilst on holiday.
Water Conservation push button taps are used where possible
Social Practices local businesses are promoted to guests and local events are supported by the park. The park are proactive in working with the Local Authority in keeping the beach clean (which has been awarded a Blue Flag) using their own staff to remove rubbish and non natural sea deposits.
Wildlife the lake attracts local wildlife and a 3 acre section on the cliff tops has been left to develop naturally to help encourage new species of flora and fauna.
Building Practices a recently purchased piece of land to the rear of the site will be used to help redevelop the park. Conservation and landscape architects will be used to help boost the sustainability of the park and its facilities.
Purchasing Policy all cleaning products used are environmentally friendly.
