Beccles & Oulton Broad

A charming, historic market town on the River Waveney, Beccles lies within easy reach of a wonderful array of attractions in the tranquil southern Broads. A boating holiday here can consist of delightful short cruises, perhaps to picturesque Loddon or Oulton Broad or longer cruises to the city of Norwich and Great Yarmouth, via Burgh Castle at the southern end of Breydon Water, as well as to Acle, Wroxham, Horning, Hickling and Stalham in the northern Broads.

Beccles town itself, famed for its separate church and tower, delightful river views and pretty streets of Georgian houses, also offers good shopping, inns and restaurants.

Oulton Broad

Oulton Broad, one of the finest yachting lakes in Britain and a popular centre for windsurfing, fishing and powerboat racing, lies at the southern end of the Broads. As well as a cruise to Norwich, your boating holiday could include a trip past the Berney Arms Windmill and Burgh Castle, through Breydon Water to Great Yarmouth and, beyond it, to the Broads' largest area of open water at Hickling, via Acle and Potter Heigham.
