First time narrow boat trip and it was fabulous - helped by good weather. Training we got was great and really clear, everyone we came into contact with was so helpful and nice. Boat was ok and had everything you needed but it was a bit dated and some new bedding and mattress is needed. (PS I think in 2015 its not unreasonable to expect 240v and be able to use a hair dryer or charge a phone....maybe an upgrade to the electrics on board?)

Enjoyable trip. The boat was fine, though somewhere to charge the computer batteries would have helped. Best shower we have had on a boating holiday. Excellent TV reception for once. Info and instruction DVD sent in advance was a real help. More info about possible routes would have helped (no of locks, and proper info re the Hazlemere tunnel access) Friendly boatyard, and the help on the flight of locks from the canal volunteers made life a lot easier.

My partner and I enjoyed a brilliant week on the Macclesfield and Peak Forest Canals. Such an interesting area to visit - and a most attractive route. Although we arrived a little early the boat was ready for us, spotlessly clean and comfortable - exceeding my expectations. My partner had never been on a boating holiday before and had some anxieties about locks and things. The guy who delivered the tutorial was second to none, putting our minds at ease and prepared us well. We had no "major" incidents and our boat handling skills and confidence improved as the week progressed. Already looking at where to go next time. Recommend to anyone who's not tried it to have a go.

Excellent holiday. The boat yard handover was the best we have ever had. We were so comfortable on Bosley, we did not want to hand her back at the end.

Having had a fantastic holiday on the canals 2014 I was immediately disappointed with the age of Bosley - although clean it is very dated which I pointed out on hand over. Compared to our boat in 2014 it took a lot more handling on the rudder and my partner found it difficult. No 240V means no hair drier, vacuum cleaner, micro wave etc. A 12V hair drier specified was next to useless only blowing cold air which left my partner upset that her hair would be a mess every day, I pointed out this to the boat yard but they could not come up with anything to improve the situation. The gas oven was faulty and kept going out and the ignition button for the gas on the cooker did not work, we later found out it was not connected, although we were supplied with a box of matches meaning a hands and knees job to try and light the oven. I informed the boat yard and they sent an engineer but they had no spares, a cooker change was later proposed at a convenient location but we still had no oven for 2 nights from when found it faulty (Monday) By Wednesday mid day with no word of a solution we called it a day and took the boat back. Although we got some refund from the boat yard manager it worked out a disappointingly expensive 5 days. I could not in all honesty recommend this boat at the price they are charging even with a replacement cooker.

An enjoyable first time narrow boat short break.

Allow plenty of time if doing the Cheshire Ring. Not all locks are in good repair. Some leaky gates make it hard to equalise the levels and open the lock gates. Counryside really nice.

Only pain was amount of heat generated by hot water boiler/tank in bedroom but we went in August so would be a benefit at colder times of year.

The 'double' bed in the living area is not full sized, it is OK for children, but an adult cannot fit straight out length-ways if over 5ft 2. Kitchen equipment is adequate, if you like 'large bowls' take your own.

Quite an old boat with a noisy engine and steers like a pig in wind but everything within was clean and tidy and in full working order. The break was comfortable and enjoyable, cannot fault the company who supplied the boat, very friendly.
