Wootton Bridge, Isle of Wight


Nestling beside picturesque Wootton Creek, and within easy reach of the island’s principal attractions, with lawns leading down to the water’s edge, ideally located close to countryside of outstanding natural beauty midway between Ryde’s golden sands 4.5 miles and Newport. The village of Wootton Bridge is an eclectic mix of modern and Victorian buildings. Numerous child friendly sandy beaches are found nearby and for walkers, there are five separate trails to follow from the village, one of which leads to a little used cove, Woodside Bay, and can be reached on foot within 10 minutes or so. Visitors will find places of interest to suit all ages and tastes including the Roman Villa at Brading, a wax museum housed in the island’s oldest domestic building dating from 1499, The Isle of Wight Steam Railway, the Butterfly and Fountain World, interactive dinosaur museums, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, the Botanic Gardens at Ventnor. A short drive leads to Cowes, host to regattas every summer as well as the famous Cowes Week. Shops and pubs serving food are about 0.75 miles away in Wootton and Ryde offers more extensive shopping
