Dating back to the early 18th century and situated in the grounds of the former village forge, this sympathetically converted stable is well presented and very comfortably furnished. To the rear of the cottage is a patio, ideal for alfresco dining on warmer days. The pretty village of Thornton Le Dale (1 mile) has everyday shopping, tearooms, inns and restaurant with further amenities in Pickering 4 miles away. For that special occasion enjoy a romantic evening meal on the Steam Preservation Railway as it weaves its way through stunning moorland and countryside of the Esk Valley. Set on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, it is an excellent base for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts; Dalby Forest with its cycle paths, nature trails and picnic areas is just a few minutes from the cottage and fishing is available at Wykeham Lakes. The stately homes of Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall, the City of York, the Eden Camp Museum and the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Whitby are within a ½ hour drive.
