Sand and pebble beaches and a wide variety of flora and fauna in over a thousand acres of heath and marshland delight ramblers and visitors alike and the village hosts the popular annual British Open crabbing competition. Excellent pubs, restaurants and craft shops complete the picture and across the river (accessed by foot ferry or bridge) lies Southwold with its harbourside huts selling fresh fish. Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings and Woodbridge are an easy drive.
