Rising dramatically from the surrounding lowlands, the Malvern Hills run between the counties of Worcestershire and Herefordshire. At almost 1400 feet at their highest point, the Malvern Hills offer some wonderful views over the Severn Valley and are understandably popular with walkers. The Victorian spa town of Great Malvern is famous for its spring water, as well as for the wonderful stained glass in the Priory. Cricket fans should take a trip to the village of Colwall, where the sport has become an institution. And the fairytale Eastnor Castle, with its magnificent furnishings, is a must see for stately home lovers. The Malvern Hills were also a great source of inspiration to the composer Elgar, who is buried in the churchyard at Little Malvern.
