Sixty miles of gloriously varied coastline await you in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which stretches from Brixham to the outskirts of Plymouth. There are rugged cliffs to walk along, interspersed with sandy coves, quiet seaside resorts and no less than five estuaries. The popular towns of Dartmouth, Wembury and Salcombe are also to be found here. Sailing is a big attraction, while there are also many walks and trails for lovers of the great outdoors. Inland, this is deepest Devon country, with pretty villages, quiet farmland and narrow lanes, as well as the lush valleys of the Dart and Avon rivers. The area is also home to two national nature reserves, and many rare species of flora and fauna can be found here.
