I was initially concerned about this cottage, having read recent reviews that were posted after my booking. However, these were quickly dispelled. The linen issue referred to by an earlier review has been addressed, the cottage was clean, warm and homely. Some minor things need addressing such as several chipped mugs, the kettle heavily dribbles on pouring, not good with boiling water all over the worktop and the bathroom shaver/ mirror cabinet light wasn't working. However, these were minor issues and did not detract from my very good holiday. The reason I wouldn't book it again is the property is on a busy main road, road noise becomes back ground with the TV on and we could sleep with the window open. The access is not good, yes there is adequate parking but you are safer reversing in, with bends either side on a busy road it's not safe to reverse out. Excellent base for mountains, coast and woodland walks, cycling etc. Loads to do and see, but you have to use the car to access these. There are no safe walks from the cottage. Overall, a good cottage with a good garden, sadly on a busy road, in a very convenient location for exploring. Had a great holiday.

The cottage was beautiful. The lady who looked after it was very friendly and helpful. The only draw back for us as a family was that it was on a very busy main road so we always had to take the car out. Having boys of 10 and 12 who like a little bit of independence found it a little frustrating. There were lovely walks - Dolgellau - Barmouth (Mawddach trail), Harlech was very beautiful. Would highly recommend Zip World - Titan. This wasn't our original booking. The owners of the first property we booked, double booked our week! Which we found out whist camping in Bala. Cottages 4 you were very apologetic and sorted us out a new property which was Caerdeon. Thank you so much for making it stress free. We still made the most of it.

Cottage looked good upon arrival after pulling off the main road which we found to be somewhat dangerous especaially if coming from Barmouth direction. Upon entering the cottage we were met with the smell of dog.... the cottage is dog friendly so should be expected. Bathroom was small and dark and would probably benefit from being converted to a wet room. Some lovely walks if you are brave enough to tackle the main road with the estuary well worth a look. Well equipped with everything you would need for your stay including a Weber Bbq. Little babbling brook in the garden was beautiful. Barmouth well worth a visit

Unfortunately there was no wifi, but that was explained to us by the owner before we left. The water situaton was bad, hardly any pressure and consequently we had no hot water (we didn't realise this at the time), so we felt we had to complain about this to the caretaker, which we did on Sunday, the plumber didn't come out until Wednesday, and the outcome was that the water pressure had been turned right down but we felt that this should have been sorted out before we arrived! Unfortunately we had to go out in the car to walk anywhere and the road was very busy. There was no mobile signal at all and we had to go 2 miles down the road in the car to get hold of anybody. Apart from this, the Lodge was very comfortable and nicely done and was a very relaxing holiday.

Nice cosy cottage on a busy road. No shops or pub locally. No toilet on bedroom level. Visibly clean but in and under things not clean. We had to wash all kitchen equipment before use. For the rest enjoyable, lots of nice walks around to be reached by car within a few miles.

Dreadful place right next to busy road so no sleep at night from traffic noise coupled with old broken and draughty bedroom window. Would be very dangerous with small children. Rooms pokey, draughty and depressing. You need a car so don't bother booking if you're hoping to catch buses into Barmouth because there are none. Bed linen in double room old and bobbled. Towels not fit for purpose. Booked for 7 nights and left after 2. Don't waste your money
