Walks in every direction start from the doorstep, with the Pennine Way and Wainwrights Coast to Coast Walk close by, footpaths criss-cross open fields and wild flower meadows. Cycle the country lanes or spot the steam train on the Wensleydale Railway, which passes along the valley. Nearby Aysgarth offers picnic areas, riverside walks and the impressive Aysgarth Falls. It is one of Wensleydale’s most popular beauty spots. Many country inns in the surrounding villages serve real ales and tempting Yorkshire food, whilst Leyburn, Hawes and Richmond offer a range of attractions, shops, pubs and restaurants.
