This lovely part of Wales centres on the wide expanse of Cardigan Bay, noted for its excellent beaches and wonderful coastal landscape. And it’s yours to enjoy to the full from one of our holiday cottages in Ceredigion. This is a nature lover’s dream, with bottlenose dolphins regularly seen off shore, Red Kites increasingly spotted and a wide variety of other wildlife on the Cardigan Coast Path. Our Ceredigion cottage holidays are also the ideal way to discover the university town of Aberystwyth. Once known as the “Biarritz of Wales”, it has a fine, largely unspoilt Victorian promenade. While you’re here, take the Rheidol Railway to the nearby beauty spot of Devil’s Bridge, where you’ll find a wonderful nature trail complete with waterfalls, rocky streams and high walkways. The coastal town of Cardigan has a traditional atmosphere, as well as the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, a great family favourite, while Aberaeron boasts a pretty harbour fronted by brightly painted Georgian houses. Sailors should head for New Quay, home of the Cardigan Bay Regatta. This was also a favourite of Dylan Thomas who used it as a model for Llaregub of “Under Milk Wood” fame.
