An ideal holiday base, these attractive, cosy and comfortable properties, five of which we offer here, sit on a courtyard in the heart of Beadnell village, a popular venue for water sports enthusiasts and boasting a picturesque harbour as well as a shop and two pubs serving food – all within a few yards’ stroll. Two miles to the north, Seahouses offers a variety of shops and tea rooms, a leisure centre and superb golf course, and boats depart regularly from its working harbour for fishing trips or to visit the Farne Islands’ famous seal colonies and bird sanctuaries. A further 3 miles up the spectacular coastline, a deservedly recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, lies Bamburgh – dominated by its splendid castle – whilst the causeway leading to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a little further. An easy 12 mile drive south reaches the market town of Alnwick with its castle, renowned as the film location for Hogwarts School and beside it, Alnwick Gardens, an exciting contemporary space featuring gloriously vivid planting, stunning water displays and one of the largest tree houses in the world. A wide variety of day trips from exploring the historic towns of the Scottish borders to shopping at Newcastle’s Metro Centre are also easily accessible.

    Enjoyed our stay in the area. Parking space a bit scarce. Directions were to upstairs accomodation at the front instead of downstairs at the back! Poor mobile signal so WIFI would have been very useful.

    Cooking equipment was very basic, the Bed was terrible would suggest a new bed with mattress pad. very clean very srong smell of bleach but guess this was due to dogs being allowed, parking should be enforced to specific spaces someho, some people had 2 cars and one family had 3 at the beging of the week. sofa not veery comfortable. Also suggest putting in an ADSL internet connection for the block and a Wireless access point in each cottage its not to expensive and would allow internet as it was very dificult to get an 3G or 4G signal.

    There is a problem with parking at this property. As there are no designated parking places, the cars end up badly spaced and the last car in cannot get parked. Also the car at the end of the line does not have space to turn.

    Everything you needed for a holiday break. Pity the details for the new connection to Wifi was not left in the instruction package for the cottage, as we had left home before receiving the e-mail about the code.

    This simply furnished apartment was recently refurbished to a good standard and was more than adequate for our needs. The owners provided a welcome pack and far as we were concerned, the negative reviews we had previously read about the property were found to be obsolete and should be removed. This ground floor apartment is in a very convenient location to explore the Northumberland coastline and its attractions as well as the hills and forests of the national park and surrounding countryside.
