We really enjoyed our stay at finch lodge. The location was lovely. It is very quiet and not overlooked so is nice and private. There are fields surrounding the lodge and we enjoyed watching and listening to the wildlife and farm animals. There were only 2 of us in our party so the lodge was plenty big enough. The sofas and the beds were comfortable, and the place was clean. The lodge heated up quickly and was nice and cozy. There were some nice touches as well-a phone call before our visit to see if we wanted any basics buying in like milk and eggs, there were a few nice biscuits on arrival and there was plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses. There was also tea towels, washing up liquid, shampoo, soap etc so you don't need to take those. The lodge is generally well maintained, just a few small issues which we made the owner aware of. The lodge is in a great position for exploring that part of Yorkshire. We enjoyed Pickering, Whitby which we got to via steam train from Pickering (definitely recommend), Helmsley and the birds of prey centre. It's a lovely part of the country and we would definitely stay at finch lodge to explore it all again.

Finch Lodge is now one of my all time favourite holidys. The lodge is very clean, has everything that you require. A verandah at the front, and a patio at the rear in a private area. the location is in a quiet area with pleasant rural views. Plenty of things to see and do.The village is easy walking distance, it has a village pub, fish and chip shop, and a very good Indian restaurant/takeaway.
