My friend and I (plus Frank the dog) enjoyed a fabulous New Year’s Eve weekend at the cottage. It is very well equipped and the proprietors Mick and Lorraine were very kind, helpful and welcoming. They even delivered some fresh eggs to us on NYD morning to complete our breakfast 😊. I would highly recommend a stay at Gable Cottage and hope to revisit in the summer.

Nice little cottage - basic but has everything you need. No central heating but has log burner, efficient electric heaters and electric blankets on the beds. 4-poster bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable. Owners very helpful too. Onecote is a small village but is well placed for exploring both the south-west Peak and adjacent areas of Staffordshire. Despite only living an hour away we had no problem finding new places to go and things to do. The Jervis Arms pub just down the road is friendly and the food is good.

This cottage is basic and rustic. Lovely warm cottage with good amenities. Four poster bed in main bedroom and twin beds in other bedroom. All have electric blankets. Wood burning stove in lounge. Owner very friendly and helpful. Because of the location you need a car. Will recommend to others.

This is not the largest property but has everything you need. The bedrooms had the most amazing views and the beds very comfortable. The sitting area had a lovely wood burner exposed walls and patio doors into a patio area with seating. Lots of nice touches, library of books and DVDs, board games. In a small hamlet but not far from Leek with great choice of supermarkets. Many great days out but Thors Cave on the Manifold Trail was fantastic and free! Peak Caverns at Buxton Great and loved Monkey Forest. Plenty of great pubs /restaurants in area . The local pub was closed for renovation whilst we were there but opened on the day we left so will sample on a return visit. Owners great very helpful and friendly on hand if you need any information or in the unlikely event of any problems. Lovely holiday enjoyed by family of four. WiFi for teenagers great too😊

I recently visited this property with my wife and our dog. A lovely little cottage in a great location with stunning scenery on the door step. A pub just a minutes walk up the road, although under refurb when we visited in second week of May 2017 would be a great way of winding down at the end of the day. The cottage ( a former stable )is small and quaint and is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a short break. Very comfortable sofas in lounge area with a little log burner. Logs are available on site for a very reasonable fee of £6.00 per basket ( first basket of logs are free). Small courtyard area with four chairs and a table provides a pleasant outdoor sitting area. The town of Leek is a 10 minute drive away and has numerous supermarkets etc. Owners are very friendly and will do everything they can to ensure you have an enjoyable stay in their cottage. We will certainly return again at some point and will be recommending this 'little gem' to family and friends

The most wonderful place to have a relaxing holiday one day and then have a fun filled holiday the next. Lots of brilliant things to do just a short drive away, from mountain climbing to Karting. Cottage was brilliant and everything was to the highest standard. The owners were friendly and very helpful. The wood burner made the cottage warm and cosy with plenty of chopped wood supplied by the owners for a small fee. Great for a couple or a family. Near Alton Towers and the glorious Roaches with Donnington Park race circuit just a short drive away. There are also plenty of places near by to get supplies to cook at the cottage or to go out and eat. We just ate it the cottage. Also a great place for a pet. Our dog loved the endless walks and then when we got home he fell asleep by the fire. Thank you for an amazing holiday.
