• About Kittiwakes

Day trips by rail to France depart from Ashford, 20 miles. Shops and pubs 400 yards.

The only gripe about the location is nothing to do with the wonderful Kittiwakes but the private road that you enter when leaving the main road. Why oh why don't the nine owners of the cottages on it pull resources and at least fill the huge potholes with gravel as it is a veritable sinkhole appearing with a lake !

A great location within easy walking distance of Rye town centre. Lovely views from the lounge over the river and fields beyond. Allocated parking close to the entrance. The owners are also very helpful. We have happily stayed here a number of times.

This is a really lovely apartment with great views of the river and suited the two of us - just what we wanted. We had a week of good weather too that helped our enjoyment of the area. Would definitely consider booking Kittiwakes again. The only downside is the state of part of the access road but that shouldn't put anyone off Kittiwakes' fabulous location.

First rate accommodation, this was our 4th/5th visit in as many years and will be booking soon for next year, only wish we could book for 10 days rather than 7.

We liked the location of the apartment and view from the window in the lounge cum diner/kitchen. However, we self cater and the noise from a cooling fan in the oven, which came on soon after the oven was turned on and lasted 30 minutes to an hour after it was turned off (depending on whether the oven door was left open to aid cooling), was irritating.

This is a great apartment - really comfortable and close to great pubs and places to eat in Rye. Really convenient for RSPB Dungeness nature reserve, Rye Harbour and Battle Abbey.

Lovely modern flat overlooking the river. Very comfortably kitted out with the usual kitchen equipment but also nice fluffy towels, lots of loo rolls (nothing worse than arriving to find half a toilet roll!). The owners had also left us tea bags, sugar, coffee and fresh milk in the fridge as well as a welcome gift of Prosecco. There was lots of local information in the flat and well stocked shelves of books and DVDs.. not that we had time to see any of them! The flat was a short walk from Rye town centre which saved parking problems in the busy little town and overlooks a busy smallholding with sheep and emus - plenty going on. Really thoughtfully presented and very comfortable. We will definitely return.
