Very quirky lodge house that we found a bit gloomy inside. It would help if the surrounding vegetation was pruned back! And this would reveal more original garden. It could also do with having some hooks for hanging up coats. A good base for exploring mid-Wales and Shropshire which is a lovely part of the country.

We enjoyed our time here - it is a fun old lodge and the area of Wales was new to us and interesting.

Bijoux, quirky, characterful and well equipped lodge for those with a sense of adventure. Open fire and coal fired range with bavk up electric radiators/heaters. Near town but quiet, . Minimal phone/wifi reception.

Stepping inside the lodge was like going back in time. It has been furnished in keeping with the age of the property. The bed was very comfortable and the real fire was lovely on the dark wet evenings. The location is nice and central for mid wales which enabled us to visit a good section of the Snowdonia mountains and lakes. Despite being located next to the roundabout, the cottage was very quiet inside. It was lovely being away from the busy cities and hordes of people. A lovely relaxing break.

What a shame! It looks so perfect then you discover how dirty and moldy it is. The mattresses need replacing and the sheets and towels provided were dubious. My husband and I took it turns to take the side of the bed next to damp, moldy wall or the lumpy side of the ancient mattress. It needs a complete overhaul and damp course. Character -wise and location-wise it is great but it was like camping in a soggy field.

Great location. Bedding disgusting. Unable to sit comfortably in sitting room as furniture too uncomfortable. Invest in a complete refurbishment as damp, scruffy and only appears to be surface cleaned. Pricing point does not excuse what you get.
