• About Maes Gwyn

A delightful, spacious and beautifully presented Victorian house set in the best loved seaside resort in Wales, Maes Gwyn makes a wonderful base for summer beach holidays and relaxing winter escapes. Perfect for family gatherings and reunions, this large house is ideally located in a quiet residential area (an adjoining ground floor apartment is in separate use), just a few hundred yards from two glorious beaches and a host of family seaside attractions including traditional puppet shows and donkey and pony rides along the sands. A fine selection of shops, inns, cafés and restaurants are found within walking distance, as is Llandudno’s famously grand Victorian pier and cable tramcar rides to enjoy the fabulous vistas at the summit of Great Orme (those with a head for heights might prefer the exhilarating views of the aerial cable cars). Sailing in the bay is popular and this gracious Victorian resort also boasts a golf course and dry ski slope whilst a myriad of exciting outdoor pursuits are readily available in the nearby mountains of the Snowdonia National Park. Just 4 miles away the ancient walled town of Conwy also boasts an impressive castle. There is wonderful walking in the surrounding area, and the Conwy Valley Railway line journeys to Blaenau Ffestiniog from where the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway continues to Porthmadog on Cardigan Bay. Shops and pubs 500 yards.

A wonderful property suitable for families and friends. Excellent service from Julie in advising when house was ready and the provision of welcome pack, towels and bedding etc. Wouldn't hesitate to book again - such perfect holiday accommodation for all ages.

Pros: This property has lots of space, 5 of 6 bedrooms are large. Lots of kitchen counter space; extra floor freezer in kitchen; warm and sturdy property; property carers are easy to contact; lots of large windows-so very bright and cheery Cons: only shower is far away from the bedrooms (in back corner on ground floor) looks beautiful, but functions poorly - shower water dribbles out, no place to put soap/shampoo, no trashcan, etc; washer/dryer is really only a washer in practice...tried drying, but never came remotely close; piano in photo is not functional, bathrooms generally not laid out functionally; most bedrooms have no wardrobe space for hanging clothes -had to pick up some cheap rolling ones at asda, lots of pots, but many of the non stick pans are peeling Teflon, and minor, but the spoons were either for tea or for people with exceptionally large mouths Be aware there is no wi-fi...which is as advertised

I was amazed with the best possible service i have received. I paid for 2 nights, officially from 4pm on Friday until 10am on Sunday. However the owner was so kind and polite and told me that i can have the house from Friday early morning till late afternoon on Sunday. We had a wonderful and enjoyable weekend and i would be very happy to stay there again.

Ten of us, including three teenagers and a two year old toddler, went from Friday evening until Monday morning and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everyone agreed that they wanted to go again. The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived and Julie had left bread, milk, butter, tea and coffee for us. The location is perfect, handy for the town centre, the west shore, the Great Orme and the pier. The bedrooms lacked hanging space for clothes and the house needs painting, although the rooms were generally nicely decorated. The kitchen is large, well equipped and big enough for ten to sit round the table comfortably. The lounge had comfortable easy chairs but for the number of people it can accommodate it could do with at least one more comfortable chair. The downstairs bathroom was excellent with a modern walk-in shower but the passage leading to it was very shabby and for the money we paid we felt that parts of the house needed some refurbishment. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we hope to go again!
