• About Morello

Tucked away down a country lane leading to the River Waveney, these two traditional 19th century farm building conversions are ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break near the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Set close to the owner’s home on a small farm whose grazed water meadows stretch to the river, and offering good fishing and walking, they are well placed for exploring the nearby market towns of Bungay, with its castle and recently restored theatre, and Beccles on the Norfolk Broads – both with interesting shops, pubs and restaurants. Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast is 15 miles, whilst Norwich city, Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are all under 25 miles. Shops 4 miles, pub 2 miles.
All on ground floor: Split level living/dining room/kitchen area, with beams. 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Both properties: Oil CH, elec, bed linen and towels inc. DVD. M/wave. Patio and furniture. Shared 30-acre grounds and garden. Private parking for 2 cars. Fishing in season by arrangement (licence required). No smoking. NB: Unfenced river in grounds.

Sadly we would not stay there again only because of the boiler being situated in a cupboard in the bedroom which serviced both cottages and if you are a light sleeper this can be disturbing. We mentioned it to the owner and she got the plumber out the next day which made an improvement but still no good for sleeping. We found the cottage generally very comfortable and private and Mrs Wood was very welcoming and pleasant to talk to.

The cottage was pleasant, but for over £100 per night I would have expected things like wi-fi, dishwasher/washing machine, a fridge with a freezer compartment door on it!. The boiler which served both cottages was noisy when the heating or water was being used. As it was in a room sectioned from our bedroom it woke us up in the morning when the people in the cottage next door were earlier risers than we were. The cottage was very clean and the bed was comfy, but expensive for what was offered. Overall it was okay & the owners were very nice people, but we wouldn't go again.

Morello suited me well with its location within easy reach of many places to visit, country, seaside, town and city. The owner was very helpful and pleasant.

A lovely holiday in a perfect location. We enjoyed walks from the cottage . Only a short drive to the shops and other places of interest.

I chose the cottage and location because it was close to my family at Christmas. There was an issue with the heating but the owners were swift to sort it out and I was very comfortable during my stay.
