Stayed twice at Nobles in 2017 - love virtually everything about the cottage. Only adverse comment is that mattresses are overly firm but this is perhaps a matter of personal preference.

Loved the location, comfy beds, good to have a parking space though a bit tight, comfortable lounge. Only downside - the washing machine (drying function) doesn't work in spite of us following all the instructions in the book several times - wet clothes are not good on holiday - I think you need a new one.

Fantastic location with wonderful views. The property is well furnished and very comfortable. Access to the property was a novel experience as have to drive through a busy shopping street and parking in allocated spot was quite tight but this was easily manageable with a little patience. Would book again without hesitation.

The cottage itself is in an amazing location and is well furnished. However it was impossible to park outside the cottage as the next door neighbour took all the parking space with his one car.

Great accommodation in a perfect location. Plenty of space for a large group of people with 3 bathrooms plus extra loo. Problems with the washer dryer - would be better to have two separate machines. Summer weight duvets would be much appreciated.

Absolutely stunning location! The cottage is lovely - the second floor lounge is a real bonus so you can make the most of the views. Parking was a little tricky as the guests next door had a rather large vehicle but they were able to make use of the end house parking space as it was unoccupied. One thing that did catch us unawares was a lack of spare loo rolls! With no corner shop nearby we had to pinch one from the local pub! All other facilities within the cottage were plentiful and it was a real treat to stay in such a good location in Whitby :)

A wonderful cottage with plenty of room for 6 people. It is warm, comfortable, and tastefully decorated throughout. The kitchen is well equipped. There are beautiful views from almost every window.

This is our 4th visit to the cottage and our first in the summer. we love it so much. the ONLY reason I didn't rate it 10 for value, is that it only has space for one car, so over the course of a week you spend quite a lot on additional parking charges. Its totally not the fault of the cottage owners but is a 'hidden' cost. Cottage is in a breathtaking setting and is cosy and well equipped. It's had a new kitchen since we last visited and its really nice. I can totally guarantee that we will stay again, its worth it for the fabulous sunsets alone.

We have been regular visitors to Nobles Cottage and have noticed over the years that the cleanliness has deteriorated. It was that bad this year that I had to wash the bed linen before we could sleep in the beds! The bed linen has not been upgraded in the 5 years we have been visiting and the pillows are disgusting. There was a brown stain on the bedding in the front room and the bedding in the back room was covered in hair. It looked rather like dog hairs although this cottage stipulates no pets. My son and daughter are allergic to pet hair and the main criteria when renting a cottage is that there are no pets. Upon arrival we noticed a new kitchen had been installed. However the floor was covered in crumbs and looked as if it hadn't been swept for weeks. Another job carried out upon arrival. The towels used to be laid on the kitchen table but this year there were two towels per person folded at the end of each bed. A hand towel and a towel not as big as a bath sheet. Apart from one towel, the others that should have been white were discoloured, worn and one even had a hole in it. There are no towels provided for the downstairs toilet. Upon pulling the curtains in the front bedroom there was a carrier bag hanging off the tie back with a dirty yoghurt pot in it together with some tights . As set out above, we have been regular visitors to this cottage - but sadly will not be returning. The location is excellent but given the rental price for a week it is not worth the money.

Fabulous location, parking is tight at the rear of the property if you have a larger vehicle. Some items are a little tired, e.g. towels and are in need of replacing. Fantastic views from the upstairs lounge and bedrooms. We had a great time and will book again.

Overall the cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The second floor lounge has splendid views of the harbour. The only issue we had was when what the cottage describes as the temperamental boiler safety cut out stopped the boiler on the Sunday. The guide says for guests not to touch the temperamental boiler but to phone them. We left several telephone messages, but got no response until the following day. This did mean the upper floor and the second floor lounge were too cold to use on the Sunday evening .There was a gas fire in the lounge so there was one form of heating and the hot water still seemed to work, but as the local weather forecast had given out sleet and snow the lack of boiler did cause us some anxiety and prevented us relaxing properly on a rare non-work the next day Sunday. The owner did call back the following day and provided instructions on how to restart the boiler and established from the messages on the boiler that it needed to be topped up with water. The owner did explain they had been out the previous day and so had not got the phone message about the boiler and that the poor phone signal in Whitby did sometimes make messages difficult to understand. By mid morning the owner arrived and topped up the boiler and the rest of the holiday was incident free. The cottage is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is quite well equipped for a rental property. The TV remote controls are showing some signs of wear and can be a bit temperamental. It may be worth providing enough hand towels for each of the four toilet/ bathrooms as we only had 1 hand towel each. In spite of the minor glitch with the heating we thought overall this was one of the better rental properties we had stopped in , we would use it again and recommend it to family and friends. Parking is quite tight, but manageable for drivers with a medium/average car and used to having to park in inner cities. It is rare to get designated parking in such a central location in Whitby.

This is a wonderful cottage in an excellent position for a stay in Whitby. It is within easy walking distance to the centre of Whitby, but just far enough away to be quiet at night without noise from the pubs at closing time. It is very comfortable and homely, and is deceivingly roomy. The views over the harbour and piers from the upstairs sitting room and 2 front bedrooms are probably hard to better in Whitby. We stayed for 3 nights, and once we had parked the car we never used again it until it was time to return home. We've already booked for 2017!

lovely cottage in an excellent location, great views over the harbour and only a few minutes walk to places to eat and shop. Parking for one car which is a real bonus in Whitby.

Really nice cottage have stayed here before. It has a great location and plenty of space for a family. Gave lower scores as the bedding. towels and kitchen utensils should be upgraded for the price of the property.
