Lovely little lodge, even fresh flowers and a jug of milk waiting on arrival. Peaceful location, gorgeous view but close to everything ..... the welcome booklet is full of all the things it is close to and where to go, very useful. So much nicer and cheaper than a hotel in the centre, will certainly be back.

An excellent, well managed site. Lodges are well equipped and mantained to a high standard. Our second trip, and certainly won't be the last. Highly recommended. Well done and thanks to Neil and his team!

What was all the fuss about??!! Having read other reviews about the owner & his wife being miserable, I couldn't believe how much to the opposite they were. They were both polite & couldn't do enough for us on our stay. Our Lodge itself was spotless & the surroundings were lovely round a lovely fishing lake. We didn't do any fishing whilst there as we were enjoying the other attractions that York had to offer. However, as a base this was the best. We will certainly be returning. Thanks again to the owners for making our weekend break such a pleasurable one.

We had 3 nights at the lodges and overall found them to very good. From arrival to departure we enjoyed our stay very much. Trains have been mentioned in the background and you can hear them a little (I would say more so at the first few lodges so 5 and upwards would be less so) but they posed no inconvenience. The location is excellent - nice view over the lake, plenty room between lodges, quiet and easy to take the bus into York from Tesco's. The lodge was well equipped. We actually found the bed excellent in that it provided a great night's sleep. We would return if going back for another weekend.

We had a very relaxing holiday. The lodge was exceptional, with superb views. If I had anything negative to say it would be that we were disappointed in the free kennel provision.we chose not to leave our dog in the kennels. We have told all our family and friends what a superb place Parkside lodges is. Will definitely be back.

It would of been nice for someone to be there to hand key over rather than just being left at the gate when we arrived. Otherwise a relaxing place. Lodge immaculate and easy ten min bus ride into central York. Would go back

We had a really lovely week staying here. It's a perfect location for us to visit our family who live in York and with great access to the park and ride for stress free trips into York itself. Tesco and a Giraffe restaurant across the road and Lidl a 2 minute drive away! The lodge was immaculate and well equipped including a dishwasher not mentioned on inventory. We will definitely book again!

Beautiful lakeside setting. We didn't go for the fishing but enjoyed meeting those who did. Staff friendly and helpful. Ideal location for easy access to city centre and neighbouring areas.

We were disappointed no one mentioned the main railway line extremely noisy .The accommodation was also disappointing, the wall cupboards in the bath room and toilet stuck out so far if you tried to wash your face or clean your teeth you banged your head, the shower over the bath was so cramped with the plastic shelves and hand rail there was no room to wash properly. the drains are inadequate taking 20 mins to empty the bath , half the time the toilets wouldn't flush . Holes in the stair carpet ,stains on the kitchen ceiling , had to ask how the cooker worked as instructions had worn of knobs, the garden was an untidy mess, extractors in bed rooms are noisy and worn out , hardly any toilet roll ,less than one complete between 2 toilets for 7 people, not at all 4/5 star, left a day early.

      In the local area…

Lush, fertile countryside, pretty market towns and a treasure trove of historic interest are all within easy reach of our holiday parks in the Vale of York. And whichever park you choose, you’ll be ideally located for exploring the ancient city of York. Rich in history, dominated by the magnificent Minster, York is brimming with great attractions. Within its superbly preserved city walls, you’ll find quaint shopping streets and fascinating museums. Be sure to see (and smell!) life under the Vikings at the Jorvik Museum and train enthusiasts will love the National Railway Museum.

North of the city, and within a short drive of all our holiday parks, the Vale of York’s gently rolling countryside is the backdrop to traditional market towns like Thirsk – home to the popular World of James Herriot. Make time to visit Castle Howard, of TV’s Brideshead Revisited fame, and Eden Camp for an evocative insight into civilian life during the Second World War. And from Pickering, you can board the North York Moors Steam Railway for a trip across the ‘Heartbeat’ moolands to Whitby. Choose Hoseasons caravan holidays in the Vale of York and enjoy all these attractions, and so much more.
