Customers should be warned about the difficult access to the parking area from Westgate because of the width of the driveway. Because of the narrow width of the opening in the brick wall even a small car is difficult to drive through and there is very steep incline immediately you have passed through.

Fantastic time, best location in Louth. Close to the park to walk out with a cup of tea to chat to the locals walking their dogs and then head north to our adopted local pub the wheat sheath for the best pint of bitter in Lincolnshire. Miss the place already, can't wait to get back.

Nice characterful house, if a little jaded in places. Ideal location; quiet, leafy suburban feel, but right next to the town. Recommend it highly.

The cottage was in a good location for dog-walking, with a nearby park. There were quite a few cobwebs around, on ceilings and in areas between kitchen units. There was a DVD library but the DVD player did not operate. For some reason none of the upstairs windows could be opened and only one of the downstairs windows opened which made it a bit stuffy at times. The shower, operated using a mixer tap, was very variable in temperature, sometimes not reaching hot for minutes and then going cold then hot again. The toilet seat was very basic, servicable light plastic, but could have been easily broken by an "ample weight" person. The fridge freezer worked fine but the freezer section urgently needed defrosting with ice quite thick in the compartments. The selection of books was very good as were the framed pictures on the walls. The fireplace was not very tempting to build a fire in and no proper kindling was supplied anyway. The fireplace would have been much better served with an electric flame-effect fire installed and with only single-glazed windows would have supplemented the radiators to make the house warmer downstairs. It seemed the oven had not been checked for cleanliness with the grill and oven trays looking quite grubby. However the gas cooker generally was very good to use with the top hobs. It was a pleasure to watch birds visiting the patio area of the garden.

We found the cottage cold downstairs, being open plan makes it worse as heat rises. The bedroom was hot but where we sat down stairs was cold. However it was a very cold week weather wise. The owner was very welcoming. The kitchen was too cluttered for our taste and there was no empty cupboard for food. The garden was lovely but was not enclosed and next to the main road so we had to watch our dog who is still not completely trained.

We had a lovely stay at No 9. However, how scores would have been higher had the television etc. been more up to date (took us a while to figure out all the different remotes to get TV etc work and even then the picture quality was poor). The bed also had a wobbly headboard which banged the wall everytime moved in the bed. Other than these two points the cottage and location was good.

Great location for being able to walk in to Louth (about 10-15 minutes max) and for shooting off to the coast. The cottage has quite a bit of character and is a reasonable size and a little area for sitting outside on a nice day. The equipment in the cottage is old and there were no instructions on how to operate anything such as the cooker or the TV. In fact we could not get the oven to work and TV was old fashioned and quite challenging to operate (via a secondary box). The parking should state that it is for one small car as the entrance is narrow and impossible with a large car as locals park opposite the entrance which makes the turning circle impossible. We had to leave our car on the very narrow road which I was not happy about as large lorries and buses use it. We only stayed for 2 nights and we found that plenty both from facilities in the cottage and what to do in the local area. Getting to any major cities is a 30-45 minute drive.
