On the fringes of the Staffordshire moorlands, these three lovely mellow brick farm barns (ref E4079, E4080 and W44303), have been beautifully converted into a fabulous holiday retreat. Boasting a smart interior and views over peaceful, pretty countryside, it sits just 1 mile from shops, pubs and restaurants in the little town of Cheadle. Footpath walking starts from the door, and the glorious Churnet Valley offers steam trains, canal boats and superb walking. Alton Towers is 5 miles, as is cycle hire on the Manifold Trail in the Peak District National Park, and Leek and Ashbourne are under 10 miles. Go indoor skiing, bowling, and swimming at Waterworld which is close by. Tamworth Snowdome, Chatsworth and Ironbridge are all easily accessible. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile. An excellent stay in a clean and comfortable converted barn. Lovely rural settings, with plenty of dog walks through fields, streams etc. Well tended (and dog safe) garden enabling sunshine and wine whilst watching hovering kestrels. Fresh eggs available from the adjacent farm. Well placed for Cheadle, Alton Towers, The Potteries and the legendary Les Oaks. Play areas and bar walk-able at the nearby camp site. Many traditional pubs in the area. Helen was a warm and accommodating host, we'd love to return.

Oaklands was very comfortable and cosy. Fresh flowers when we arrived were a lovely touch. The cottage suited our needs and was exactly what we needed.

Was very disappointed in the overall cleanliness of theach property.Kitchen cupboards were dirty.Dishwasher didn't work properly.Shower door hanging on by a thread (dangerous!)Property on the whole could do with a good clean throughout!
