The cottage is in a stunning location right on the sea shore. It is in a tiny village so we didn't expect there to be much in the way of local amenities however, there was a pub next door and a shop a few miles away which had everything we needed. Seil island is a quirky place quite unlike anywhere we have been before and, because the weather was so good, we didn't leave the island at all and filled our time walking, visiting a garden and taking in the historic slate mining heritage of the area.

This is a delightful cottage with almost everything you could wish for, with a few extra comforts thrown in for good measure. On arrival, we expected to find a clean, well-appointed cottage, that was furnished and decorated to a high standard. What we did not expect, was to find a bbq kit, a bottle of wine, and a small box of chocolates waiting for our arrival. These nice touches complimented what proved to be a very comfortable holiday, with the cottage providing a tranquil and relaxing base from which to explore the beautiful island, and well beyond. The only criticism would be the lack of a dedicated parking space, although there are plenty only a short walk away, so it's no real problem at all. All in all, a fantastic property full of local charm and character, and one which we will highly recommend.

We had a lovely time in this cosy wee cottage. It has everything you would need but I am sure if there was anything missing then Kirsty the owner would happily sort. Our wee dog loved it too. Good walks and she was in the wee boat over to Easdale island which is £2.05 per person and the dog free. Nice walks there. Also visited Luing island and the Atlantic islands centre. The oyster bar next door was ideal for food in the evening and the staff and customers were very welcoming . Would highly recommend this wee place and the area. We stayed 12thMarch 2018 for a week. Weather was good for the time of year. Many thanks to Kirsty. She is lovely and we shall be back. Linda,Brian and Bonny.

This was an excellent one bedroom cottage that also allowed our small dog to stay. The cottage was extremely comfortable, warm & cosy and the double bed was excellent. Despite the weather (which was not unexpected at this time of the year) the location of the cottage was ideal, situated as it was beside the restaurant/pub. So frequent visits for coffee, bacon rolls and the odd pint took place. The food (including frequent carry-outs) from the next-door restaurant was very good and added to the enjoyment of our stay. I would thoroughly recommend "The Old Brewery Cottage" as the place to stay when on Seil Island

Clean, comfortable and good quality furnishings. The bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in (beats Gleneagles and a Trump!). Think the cottage is more of a summer stay location as there is a lovely small patio off the bedroom through French doors. The rest of the accommodation has duplex windows in the ceiling only. Lovely big telly and very friendly people in the pub next door where we had a New Year buffet lunch. The small wet room and toilet was always freezing despite a towel rail and there were old towels for use in wiping the shower out. An immersion heater needs to stay on all the time for hot water and as you pay separately for power on departure, it is expensive although the owner very kindly refunded us 50% of our fuel cost on leaving the cottage early, mainly due to the weather. There was a lovely bottle of wine and a large box of chocolates for us as well. We enjoyed our few days away over the New Year.

Just out of season so shop shut and pub restaurant limited hours which we knew before arrival so not a complaint. Lovely hosts and cottage and right on the waters edge. Would recommend and will return. John
