The resorts of Rhyl and Prestatyn sit on a long stretch of sandy beach and offer everything you need for a family holiday. There is a superb indoor leisure pool at Rhyl, as well as the Children’s Village Funfair – both great for kids. One of our Denbighshire cottage holidays is also ideal for exploring the lovely Vale of Clwyd, where the landscape is gentler than that of Snowdonia, but no less attractive.

Don’t miss Llangollen, home of the famous Eisteddford, which is held every July. Nearby is the Llangollen Canal, a spectacular aqueduct built by Tomas Telford that carries boats high over the valley below. Telford also built the Horsehoe Falls in the Vale of Llangollen, an intriguing man-made waterfall designed to supply water for his airborne canal. The pretty town of Ruthin, with its lovely half-timbered medieval houses is also a must-see. Read more »
