This is Lorna Doone country, where farmers have battled the elements for centuries. The coastline here is truly spectacular and is a real highlight of our North Devon cottage holidays. Walk the Coastal Path, and you’ll be treated to stunning views of high cliffs dropping straight to the sea, or to small coves far below. Beach lovers will also enjoy a cottage holiday here in North Devon. Resorts like Woolacombe and Saunton offer long stretches of sandy beach that are ideal for surfing and sailboarding. Clovelly is a real beauty spot, and very picturesque, while Appledore is a picture-perfect fishing village. Photographers take note. Ilfracombe is a more traditional seaside resort, but is not overly-commercialised, while the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth have an atmosphere all their own.
