And the landscape of tall mountains, wild moors and grassy glens filled with the sounds of tumbling water is truly breathtaking. The valleys of the Spey and the Dee have long been favourites with visitors. Here there are castles in abundance, ancient seats of the kings and lords of Scotland. Our Northern Highlands cottage holidays also give you the chance to explore the granite city of Aberdeen, and Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.
