Our holiday cottages in Peeblesshire are a great way to enjoy the unique charms of this attractive county. The Tweed Valley, which runs through Peeblesshire, boasts some lovely views and is a favourite with walkers. But there is much more to enjoy here, from golf, canoeing and horse-riding to climbing and salmon fishing. Birdwatchers will appreciate the Tweed Valley Osprey Watch. And when it comes to mountain biking, Peeblesshire is second to none. Glentress is the main mountain biking centre for the Scottish borders and there are 45 miles of mountain bike trails in the county.

The town of Peebles itself is a hidden treasure and within easy reach of our Peeblesshire holiday cottages. It was recently voted the top town for independent retailers and there are many specialist shops to browse here. The town also has a rich cultural life, much of it centred on the new Eastgate Theatre. But the jewel in Peeblesshire’s crown must be Traquair House. First built in 1107, this is Scotland’s oldest inhabited house, complete with a secret priest’s room. Mary Queen of Scots once stayed here and today it even boasts its own brewery.
