First appearance was good but on closer inspection cupboards were not super clean. No spare cutlery and broken pan handles. No cleaning equipment no foil cling film etc. No tea pot and a very large dishwasher with no cleaning tabs. Limited space in bathroom and kitchen sink very odd and does not drain properly. Owner very pleasant and very cooperative when asked if we could bring our grandchild.

The holiday was good apart from on the lodge details it says there is a dog day kennel but upon arriving we where told that, that service is no longer available, so had to leave our dog tied up when out as you are unable to leave pets unattended in the property.

Lovely place to stay. The owners were very welcoming. Nice walks and cycling routes on the doorstep. Great for dogs. There is a lovely pub next door. We will definitely be staying again.

Overall the premises were very clean & comfortable, and within easy reach of various attractions.....plenty of places for walking also within easy reach, which our dog loved. The owner was very friendly & couldn't do enough for us. There were a couple of missing touches that would have been welcome - washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets, and some soap in the bathroom. These are only minor considerations though. The hot tub was excellent in the evenings and the pub was very handy too. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

The biggest disappointment for us was the fact that we shared the location with a caravan site, so very little privacy and certainly not a huge incentive to sit on the patio or use the spa. There is also a dump facility for the caravans just outside the kitchen, not exactly what you want. Our parking spaces, although available when we arrived, were not marked for our use and indeed, were used on occasions by people visiting caravan owners on site. On arrival we had to repair the TV remote which had a button forced down, whilst 2 other remotes had dead batteries. The overall cleanliness was not to a good standard and the bath plug seemed to be blocked as it was very slow to drain. We also had an ongoing battle with ants in the bathroom, obviously known about as there was a good supply of ant killer in the cupboard! On one occasion during the week, the windows were cleaned when it was clear that we were still in the lodge, had to hurriedly draw the curtains for privacy - this should be done during the changeover on Friday.

Two couples stayed to attend a wedding locally. Found lodge very well equipped with the hot tub being a nice bonus. Bedrooms adequate, but some furniture needs attention;(drawers in wardrobe come out due to frame being loose; wardrobe difficult to get into as door opens wrong way). Beds comfortable. Kitchen is adequate size but lounge/dining area is too small for four adults; could be OK for just two adults. Views across fields from lodge excellent. Nearest shop is in Edwinstowe approx. two miles away. Local pub approx. 500 yards; more a restaurant than a pub.
