Lovely cottage and location which made our stay really enjoyable. Only reason we gave an 8 for location was because you can't park your car near the cottage.

Lovely little cottage with the added bonus of a hot tub, which isn't the easiest to use but the owner was on hand to help out. There is a great pub not 2 minutes from the retreat and a nice tapas restaurant within 5 minutes walk. We didn't find parking an issue and we loved the balcony just off the main bedroom. The cottage could do with a good deep clean but non of our concerns would stop us coming back. Overall good value and a lovely place to get away for a few days.

There isn't any parking at the cottage which had we known we would not of booked! The beds are uncomfortable and need replacing, otherwise had a good stay. The garden is well enclosed for the dogs.

We loved our stay. Will come back again. The town of Oxton is lovely, we would like to see what it looks like in the spring or summer. The cottage is spacious and the private hot tub was a nice touch.

Was an absolutely lovely and gorgeous cottage so cosy and felt really nice and relaxing. Hot tub was amazing temperature was superb. In a great location Oxton Village is beatiful full of lovely restaurants and bars. The people are very friendly. The living room is the cosiest room ever !!!! The only downfalls are the kitchen wasn't cleaned properly and there was old food in the freezer as though it was still being used. There were no lights when you walked in from the Main Street and was hard to use to the locks. We eventually got told we're the lights we're. Parking facilities is awful there is nowhere to park and the neighbours were complaining when we was only moving our things from the car to the cottage. Overall the holiday was lovely the downfalls didn't spoil it. There was no TV signal so you need to that an iPad to watch movies telly etc. If the negatives were dealt with this would be overall a full 10 out of 10 every time. :-)

The mattress and the 3 piece seat are in urgent need of replacement The general decor has become quite tired The position is good for us as visit family and friends so cannot really comment on local attractions The hot tub is nice but could do with hosepipe to top it up and for the cover to be easier to move as we could only use half Saying all that the kitchen and dining room are well equipped. The cottage is lovely and warm and we had a good stay

I would have scored higher for comfort but the double bed was uncomfortable which is a real shame because the bedroom itself was lovely. Overall it was a lovely cottage. The wood burner and hot tub were a real treat!

Lovely cottage, bit concerned about the step down from twin room to stairs. Well equipped kitchen and living room, good standard of cleanliness. Needs an outside light to help find way in the dark. Master room bed not great if you have back problems, mattress uncomfortable and pillows not supportive. Nice hot tub Overall lovely place for a minibreak.

The kitchen was greasy, the kitchen door didn't lock, neither did the balcony door unless you lifted the door before turning the key. The sofa is extrememly uncomfortable, one of the single beds was broken when we arrived- luckily the owner was there that evening to change the key safe code and managed to bodge a fix up job. The rooms were dusty, thick dust down the side of one single bed, again thick dust on the pillow head rest in the master bedroom. The roof/window above the balcony doors leaked. The heating charge should be included in the overall cost of the cottage, I didn't realise until after booking that there was a sur charge of £40 to have the heating on, and as there is obviously no insulation in the roof of the main bedroom at least, then the heating is needed 24/7. The photo needs updating as the front of the house is extremely overgrown now and this photo obviously shows it on a very good day, it hasn't looked like that for years I would say! A lot of money for a run down house!

Whilst we enjoyed our break . The cottage could do with a little tlc. Very small things the sofa is so uncomfortable to sit on. The double bed is very soft and my back suffered. The parking was hard and whilst not a problem to park on the road. And a bit dark and old fashioned. But had all that we needed.
