• About St Andrew’s Church

Dating from AD 806 according to the Domesday survey of 1086, this unique property was once the resting place of monks and Knights Templar who fought in the Crusades. The present building dates from 1770 and its interior retains the inscribed ledger Yorkstone floor in the kitchen, the carved stone font in the living area, painted ceilings in the mezzanine bedrooms, arched window, heavy church doors and a brass bedstead in the bedroom. Its secluded, wooded setting boasts lovely rural views, and the fascinating Wolds, Lincoln’s cathedral and castle, antique shops, nature reserves and the coast are easily accessible. Gunby Hall (NT) and Doddington Hall are both 15 miles. Shop and pub 1.5 miles.

We really enjoyed our stay at St Andrew's Church. Very clean, comfortable, relaxing and peaceful, away from everything, just what we needed. The gift of chocolates, wine, milk and flowers was a nice touch.

We had a fabulous time just relaxing with our favourite tipple and chilling. St. Andrews was everything we needed to recharge our batteries. A great retreat.

A great place to spend a holiday if you like lots of peace and quiet - not so good otherwise. The accommodation provided all we needed (although a shower would have been useful) and the welcome gifts were a nice touch. The grounds were wonderful for anyone who loves wildlife and we spent hours at dusk watching owls and hedgehogs go about their daily business.

We enjoyed our stay at St. Andrews, the local enviroment was interesting and attractive. Where the cottage fell down was over the lack of cleaning, cobwebs down to nearly floor level, we could understand them being at high level. A number of blown bulbs. Unkempt surroundings with more than one heap of dog dirt. We did not meet the owners even though they lived 50 metres away. Overall not our best experience with a holiday cottage. Lovely walking country!!
