This has been the centre of Britain’s ceramic industry for centuries, and the home of such famous names as Wedgwood and Royal Doulton. If you’re a fan of good English ale, then our Staffordshire cottage holidays are the ideal opportunity for a visit to Burton-on-Trent, where the unique quality of the water gave rise to the town’s brewing heritage. But it’s not all industry in Staffordshire. You can enjoy some lovely countryside in the Peak District, Cannock Chase and the Staffordshire Moorlands – great for walking and wildlife enthusiasts. And then there is Alton Towers, one of the UK’s premier visitor attractions with a truly scary selection of rollercoasters, as well as Drayton Manor, which has some exciting white knuckle rides of its own. The small city of Lichfield, which still retains its old world charm is also well worth a visit.
