Comfortable and reasonably well equipped though washing machine gone for repair and couldn't get oven and grill to work. A few cleaning products would have been appreciated, but overall a very pleasant and relaxing holiday.

Nice quiet and rural location with friendly owners. The onsite 'doggy day care' facility was a real bonus for us. Only areas of improvement for us would be: Sofa in lounge was very low and not very comfortable. some of the kitchen cupboards and drawers were dirty and needed wiping out before we could use them.

A perfectly comfortable little lodge in idyllic Nidderdale. Suited a couple in main bedroom with two children sharing twin room. Private with own drive and allocated garden in the middle of a working farm. Very friendly owners and useful doggy care on site which freed us up for trips to York and Harrogate. Well situated in a great part of Yorkshire with accessibility to a variety of local beauty spots.

Luckily we were staying here for work but I would unfortunately not recommend this property for a holiday stay. The lodge is small - more like a caravan than a house - with a lot of plastic finishes, but it is clean and well laid out. The main problem, that the owners do not list, is that there are pigs on the farm, in fact right behind the lodges. In hot weather the smell of pig muck is really unpleasant. We couldn't decide whether to keep the windows closed and swelter or open the windows and suffer the horrible smell. It made sitting outside deeply unpleasant. We are sheep farmers so are not unused to the odd smell but this was horrible for a holiday property. Traffic noise can also be heard very clearly from the lodge plus dogs barking at the nearby kennels. The location is good for Harrogate and sightseeing but beware of the smell in warm weather. Also a real hike to nearest pub across a very busy road.

We received a friendly welcome. Ideal for dog owners as kennels are available. A problem with the TV was fixed immediately. We ate at the local pub, the Hopper Inn, which was good. Overall it made an excellent base for seeing the area- we visited RHS Harlow Carr, Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks and Harewood House and wish we could have stayed longer to see more things.

A Lovely lodge within a working farm, a bit agricultural smelling at times! Seating very low & not that comfy, but would still there again.
