Lovely place, beautiful surroundings, welcoming host, very relaxing. Only slight concerns were that the Carthouse was a little stuffy on arrival and taking meter readings was confusing.

Cottage in a peaceful location and good views over surrounding countryside. Lots of public footpaths close-by, so convenient for dog-walking. Enjoyed our stay and would consider going again when next visiting friends in Malmesbury.

Lovely location- great pub and food in village - garden great for dog. Everything really good except bed, which we found uncomfortable and hard. Such a pity as everything else was good and owners very welcoming.

Not happy paying extra for electricity and oil for heating. Should be included in price

We stayed for a week and the cottage is very comfortable, cosy and in a great location. The local pub (the rose and crown) was brill and we really enjoyed our stay. However, we felt a bit ripped off by the fact that we had to pay for the electric and central heating on top of our stay. The owner was very kind and helpful, but the initial logs were not great (didn't seem to have been dried which h made the fire hard to get going and some were almost kindling size), and some of the standard stuff (like toilet roll and washing up liquid) was quite stingy. Overall it was great value for money for the time of year we booked and we had a lovely time. But we do at least one of these types of holidays per year, and we have never had to pay for the electric and heating before. If this hadn't been the case, we would'be probably recommended and come back.
