Great location! Ideal for all - places to walk dog from the house. I'd certainly recommend to others and would have no hesitation to return

With six adults and an 11-month old baby, finding somewhere that suits everybody can be a challenge, but the Milking Parlour had everything we needed and was well thought out. On arrival the cottage was clean, bright and tidy, and the owner introduced herself and showed us around. There were even 6 home-laid eggs kindly left for us, and she assured us that should we need anything during our stay they would be happy to help, being just down the road from the cottage in a neighbouring property. The cottage has three bedrooms. The first twin is next to the front door, and was perfect for the couple with the baby as it was separated from the lounge by the kitchen and two internal doors in addition to the bedroom door, so baby could sleep whilst the adults continued to socialise at night. This bedroom is opposite the family bathroom and this also made it quite convenient for bathing baby and having an uninterrupted bedtime routine. The family bathroom is spacious, bright and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and quite large, with plenty of work surfaces, a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, plenty of mugs, glasses, plates and cutlery, and enough sharp knives, utensils, bakeware and saucepans to allow us to cook a large meal every night. There is a bay window looking out over the garden which meant there was plenty of light, but there is also ample lighting for when it gets dark outside. Unlike many cottages we've stayed at previously we were pleasantly surprised that bin bags, dishwasher tablets, hand soap and washing up liquid had been left for our use, which meant we could settle in instead of rushing straight out to the shops. The lounge/diner had plenty of space for baby to play, was well lit with natural light from a second bay window over the garden, and featured two large sofas, an extendable dining table and six dining chairs, with an additional dining chair in the corner for extra seating. The sofas were really comfortable and it was nice that the dining chairs all had an extra cushion on too. The TV received all Freeview channels with good reception, and there was Wi-Fi provided which made planning days out much easier. Access to the garden was via a small porch leading from the lounge, and the garden was spacious with a patio and grass area. Garden furniture is provided in the form of a large dining table and six chairs with a parasol, and there is a gas-fired BBQ which was easy to use and clean. Back inside and the two remaining bathrooms are accessed by a small hallway leading from the lounge, again separated by a door so people could retire early and not be disturbed by those still awake in the lounge and kitchen. The second twin is smaller than the first but has ample storage space for clothes, and the master has a double four-poster bed and en suite shower room, with plenty of storage space. In the hallway between the bedrooms there is a shelving unit containing a wide selection of leaflets for local attractions, local guide books and lots of handy information. There are also some books to read, some board games, and a box of giant garden chess, so plenty for a rainy day. One of our party lost a necklace of great sentimental value on our last day, but we were contacted the next day by the owners who very kindly, and very quickly posted it back to us - really going the extra mile. We had a really lovely stay and would not hesitate to stay again.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. Very well equipped and ideal to explore the local attractions. The cottage is alot bigger than the pictures show and easily fitted our family of 3 adults, 3 kids and a dog. Would definitely return.

Just a couple of things my wife prefers an arm chair, however I prefer a sofa so although i was happy my wife found her sofa too low and too soft. The step to the garden was a little on the steep side. Next time we will probably try the cottage on the other side of the courtyard, we do like the area and the cottages.
