In the grounds a well stocked 5 acre fishing lake is sure to please anglers and there are peaceful picnic places and open areas for dog exercise as well as award winning “David Bellamy” nature reserve, a pleasant farm walk and 9 hole par 3 golf course; a safely enclosed childrens play area, a crown green bowls lawn, french boules and a ball games field are all nearby. Though not a “working farm” there are a number of “adopted” animals to meet from Alpacas to ponies and ex battery hens - so hopefully fresh eggs for breakfast and lots of fun for everyone. Hull with the Deep Sea Life Centre also boasts ice rink, cinemas and fine shopping whilst a short drive across the glorious Wolds takes you to York whose attractions include Viking History at the Jorvik, the National Railway Museum and the medieval shopping streets. Flamingo Land Theme Park, Eden Camp, Castle Howard, Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall are all within an hour’s drive.
