• About Treacle Den

Treacle Den and Treacle Cottage are two cosy little cottages ideal for couples looking for somewhere to get away from it all. Situated in the grounds of the owner’s home on a quiet lane in the countryside, both cottages are cleverly arranged for maximum privacy, ensuring a peaceful retreat. Within 100 yards of the cottages lies an excellent local pub that enjoys a superb reputation for its restaurant. Traditionally beamed, the pub takes its name, Botolph’s Bridge, from the local legends surrounding St Botolph, a 7th-century monk. There is an excellent selection of beaches to explore, all within 3 miles, and many beautiful walks including the Royal Military Canal which has recently seen improvements for walkers and cyclists. There are many local villages, gardens, museums, monuments and castles well worth a visit. The cottages sit conveniently within a few minutes’ drive of the motorway yet each enjoys a tranquil spot with countryside to the front and views of Lympne Castle across the fields to the rear. West Hythe is a tiny hamlet within 3 miles of Hythe, Dymchurch and Lympne. Set in a conservation area, with excellent local walks.

Spotlessly clean & well equipped but I couldnt recommend because of tiny outside space and high windows which don't allow you the enjoy incredible view. It was everything it said it was but we didn't investigate properly

Lovely cottage in quiet, pretty setting. Warm welcome and although the owner was nearby if we needed anything, we had complete privacy to enjoy our holiday. The cottage is cosy but not cramped and has very good facilities, we really enjoyed our stay despite having some pretty rough weather. The little courtyard off the bedroom is really nice and in better weather would be excellent. The only little adverse comment we would make is that a king-sized bed would be better than the double, otherwise it's a brilliant holiday cottage and base.

Needs more light in the lounge. A stool in the shower room would be useful. A full size wash basin would be nice. Otherwise OK
