Although it’s within easy reach of London, rural West Sussex remains largely unspoilt and is perfect for a quiet getaway. And what better way to get away than with one of our holiday cottages in West Sussex?The county town of Chichester is still remarkably well-preserved and boasts a handsome cathedral, as well as a good choice of shops and restaurants. Nearby is Fishbourne Roman Palace, the remains of a large Roman Villa with some very impressive mosaics. Glorious Goodwood is also close to our holiday cottages in West Sussex. The South Downs Way, which is very popular with walkers, offers some stunning views. Or why not spend a day of your cottage holiday in West Sussex exploring the reedbeds and lakes at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre at Arundel? The town of Arundel is also well worth a visit –the castle here is very impressive. A visit to the lakes and gardens at Leonardslee is also very highly recommended. There are even wallabies living semi-wild in the grounds here! If you’re interested in art then a visit to Petworth House is a must. There are some especially fine paintings by Turner on display here. And for a taste of seaside fun, make tracks to Bognor Regis.
