Cottage was clean and well equipped in a nice quiet rural location. Lots of games, books etc for guests to use and a bottle of wine left for our arrival are all lovely touches. A few more signs to find cottages and find swimming pool would be useful. More lighting for walking from cars to outside the cottage at night would be good! Areas around swimming pool could do with a good clean but this may be as we were there at end of season.

First impressions count. The cobwebs on the outside of the building do not inspire much confidence, along with a decking area that needs general maintenance and patio furniture that looks unsafe to use and you open the front door with a sense of trepidation but are pleasantly surprised with the cosy furniture and internal cleanliness. The welcome note and bottle of wine were a nice touch. Internally the only disappointment was the bathroom which was in need of a little TLC, clean grout between the tiles etc. Overall, if you want complete isolation from city life this is an ideal escape, there is a nice pool, which we had to ourselves every time we used it. Again, the pool area could do with a little TLC, but this really doesn't affect the overall enjoyment we had in the pool.

Was a lovely location but might be a bit out of the way for some. Was a good base for exploring the local area as there's lots to do. Pool was great & grounds were fantastic for our dog. Had a great time.

The cottage was very pleasant but needed a really good scrub and some serious bleach. The bathroom was damp and had mould and mildew all over it. The tiles where smeared and looked as if they had been tickled rather than actually cleaned in anyway. The same could be said for the microwave and windows. The shower was appalling and the mattresses where old and awful. The double rolled you into the middle making it impossible to sleep if you where 2 adults. There where only 3 chairs around the table meaning someone had to eat on their lap on the sofa. The chap was nice enough and helpful with giving us information. It was nice to have a pool but after spending one night there I wasn't convinced of that anything there was cleaned to an appropriate level to make me feel comfortable enough to swim. We loving name is Stalag!
