Domaine de Kerlann

Pont Aven, Brittany, France

Domaine de Kerlann is a large and lively holiday village full of Breton charm, surrounded by woodland and ablaze with flowers. The park has a superb pool complex with indoor and outdoor pools and splash zone, a health and wellbeing centre, multi-sports pitch and tennis courts.
Brittany has the longest coastline in France, and many stunning beaches and seaside towns are within easy reach of Domaine de Kerlann. There are white-sand beaches, serene harbours, craggy coves, quaint fishing villages, traditional seaside resorts and frequent picnic spots to discover. Domaine de Kerlann is on the outskirts of the small port of Pont Aven, which was loved by the artist Gauguin for its pretty stone bridges, riverside glades and the watermills; the boutiques, galleries and creperies came later. Carnac is a perfect day-trip destination. It has south-facing sandy beaches and the sea is calm, plus it’s the home of France’s version of Stonehenge, where 3000 standing stones, some more than 20m high, have stood for more that 6,000 years in lines that stretch for miles. The medieval town of Concarneau is one of the most photographed places in Brittany and the third largest fishing port in France. The narrow streets of the “Ville Close” — the island old town — are packed with tourist shops, boutiques and creperies. Quimper, on the banks of the river Odet, is Brittany’s oldest city and has a medieval quarter where you’ll find charming cobbled streets, pretty boulevards and a slow pace of life. Brittany is a foodies paradise and the many ‘gastronomic’ specialities, from oysters to crepes should be tried. Many towns have weekly farmers markets brimming with fresh goods that you can cook and enjoy in your holiday home.
