10th - 26th APRIL
All breaks for all arrivals
Lovely lodge, although quite small, nice hot tub however all jets not working, peaceful setting and lodge overlooking a lake would definitely return for a short break.
A relaxing break ,lodge well equipped , hot tub went down well with kids.
A bit pricey .
A lovely area, plenty to do within a short drive. Ashlea pools is beautiful, tranquil & picturesque with lots of wildlife to watch. The site is small with limited on site facilities but the shop is well stocked & staff helpful. Excellent eating out at Lentwardine & Ludlow.
Very peaceful and relaxing. Comfortable well equipped lodge. Beautiful surroundings.
A family break for 10, everybody said how great it was. Will go back.
This was a clean and comfortable lodge however, it was more like a 2 berth caravan than a lodge because of the lay out and limited space. I don't think it is suitable for 4 adults just 2. The location was very picturesque and peaceful so it was a shame about the train that passed the back of our bedroom in the mandarin plus lodge from 5.30am then every hour until 8.30am not sure about day time as we went out but heard a couple in the evening the last one approx 10.20pm. We had booked a 4 day stay but came back a day early because of the 5.30am wake up call from the train.
Lovely and relaxing break lodge was well equipped, great central location will go again
Lovely lodge, wasn't the cleanest and did find food under the sofa's. Hot tub was good but the functions weren't always working and no one cleaned it on the Sunday! We also noticed that we paid almost £100.00 more that you offer the lodge in your leaflet so we were not too pleased about that. However, very relaxing stay which was why we booked it. I think wifi is something to be considered as even on relaxing breaks emails etc need checking for business people.
We went for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. It was beautiful, the cabin was amazing and the hot tub was just a plus! Can't wait to go back, we didn't want to leave!
I would go back and stay there but in one of the new lodges as I was shown round one and that is the standard I expected as if I'm honest the lodge we had was old and very worn and really small although clean The radiator in the galley kitchen needed attention as it made a dripping sound continually which impacted on myself as it was directly in front of my room and this was pointed out to the owners there was no en-suite facilities just a very small bathroom which again looked tired. The fire in the main very small lounge was pre 1980s and we had to contact them in regards to turning it on as it was cold I was informed it was very tricky but it needed perseverance from the ingnite switch but was advised it did work, but we never got it to work indeed we left it alone, the fire also made the lodge feel quite old fashioned if I'm honest too, we had a jacuzzi in the lodge which was nice although at times it seemed certain jets weren't working, again this was something I mentioned to the owner! he said it was quite new and other people have that problem with it if I'm honest of everything about the lodge the jacuzzi was by far the best, I certainly would NOT go back into one of those lodges I was told by the owner they would eventually be the new style which should come sooner rather than later if I am honest !
I told the owner who was lovely I had been to stay in a lodge previously this year in Sommerset in Cheddar which was fabulous and very like the new lodges he had In Sommerset we paid a little more as we went Mon-Frid I was expecting the same sadly this was not the case and if I'm honest I did feel rather deflated, but I as I was with 2 Friends I didn't want to cause a fuss! which if it had been my family I most certainly would have done.
We were also given a welcome pack which in essence was lovely as the bread tea and coffee etc was great touch there was also some cadburys biscuits in there which would have been great had they not have gone out of date the next day we were there and unfortunately you could tell they were old hence the reason they got thrown away.
Quiet and relaxing park set in very scenic countryside. Staff were very helpful the only downside was that the lodge was advertised with a washing machine but was fitted with a dishwasher.
What a beautiful place, quiet and peaceful. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The welcome hamper was a very pleasant surprise.
This our fifth visit to Ashlea Pools and we will definitely be going again.
Beautiful location central to varied walks or towns. Welcome basket a very pleasant surprise filled with all the necessaries and a few treats. Onsite staff very helpful
We decided to book the Goldcrest VIP cabin as our main holiday this year and enjoy a holiday involving plenty of fresh air and scenery...we were not disappointed! The location of the park is absolutely stunning, with picturesque views as far as the eye can see!
On entering the cabin, it was clear how beautiful it was! The finishes and design were all of a high quality, and the hot tub was an added bonus. Unfortunately though the bed in the main room is extremely uncomfortable, resulting in poor sleep every night. Also a number of the lights were broken in the bathroom, making it very dark in the shower area. Other than this though, the cabin really was amazing!
The owners kindly include a myriad of leaflets for the surrounding area, including things to do and see, and where is good to eat. We chose the 3 places they highly recommended and were not disappointed. The Jolly Frog is a really good fish restaurant, about 5 minutes' drive away. The Lion in Lentwardine is a lovely spot by the river and does a really good (but busy) steak night on a Tuesday. Finally the Baron at Bucknell (5 - 10 minute drive) was just superb!! If you do not want to drive, the taxi company they recommend are very accommodating, but as they have to travel out from Craven Arms, they are pricey (£12 each way for a 5 minute drive to the Jolly Frog).
We also tried out 2 of the 'Walking with Offa' routes. We would highly recommend these and try as many as you can as they really are lovely walks (some are quite challenging, especially the Battlestones one from Cardington) and most start in the car park of an idyllic country pub, selling scrumptious local beers.
We also hired the bikes out for a day for £15 / bike, which was really good value. We decided to cycle around the local area, which again was so pretty. Hopton Castle is worth cycling or walking to as it is very well restored, as are all the castles in the region. Ludlow castle is a must and really good value (£5 / adult). You could easily spend a good hour or two wandering around the quirky and ornate ruins. Ludlow itself is also a lovely town, with plenty of welcoming tea shops, antiques fairs and markets nearly every day.
One thing to note is that you do need to either drive everywhere or use the public transport (which, understandably, is quite sparse in this area). The nearest pub is a 5-10 minute drive. However, we are a young couple (late 20's) and spent a few evenings in the cabin which was fantastic. The facilities for cooking are perfect, and if you are lucky enough to get good weather, you could sit out on the veranda or even go in the hot tub.
Despite the few negatives, they really are minor in the grand scheme of things and we really do hope to return in the future, so I certainly recommend this park to everyone!
