All breaks for all arrivals
As I've been going there for about 20 years ....... I think that says it all !!
lodges are very nice, most things you would need, could do with a dustpan and brush though. overall very good, site owner claire is most helpful and wilf the farm dog is great .we enjoyed our break and would stay again if we were in that area.
very relaxing, peaceful surroundings we were even given a guided tour of the nature trail by Wilf (a retired farm dog) although in some place this turned in to bog snorkeling event as the ground at the bottom of the trail was so wet.
Overall 10 out of 10 for everthing.
Really had a lovely weekend break. So peaceful and quiet and it was great that we didn't have to worry about our dog running off and she also had a great time making friends with Wilf and Wynn.
I hate having to give a bad review but I must warn others in case they waste there money like we did.
Don't get me wrong it's in a lovely location which is on an old farm and is about 10 miles from bude. The games room is a dirty old outhouse that has a broken dartboard a broken table football game , table tennis snooker table with no chalk. No heating !!! So very cold on a nighttime.
My lodge should have been disabled friendly but I couldn't get in the shower I struggled everyday with walking up the slight incline to the lodge. I couldn't use my wheelchair at all in the lodge. The fishing lake is situated about a half a mile walk away from the lodge down a very steep uneven farm track and then through a gate too a lovely little lake full of fish my children loved it. You can drive down to a little car park but if you are disabled forget it. If your getting away for a quiet weekend and your able bodied then it's a lovely place. If you have children or disabled forget it.
The kitchen area was very small and very cramped and the living area even though it has high ceilings and felt spacious there was no furniture only a pull out futon bed settee and a very uncomfortable cane rocking seat. Plus only 2 oil filled radiators for whole of the lodge.
We had lovely 3 night stay over the May Bank Holiday weekend. The lodges are in a beautiful and peaceful location, and our hot tub was the icing on the cake!
Perfect location, romantic setting for a honeymoon
Lovely Farm and Fishing Lake, hot tub a lovely bonus worth having. Farm dogs Wilf and Wynn are well behaved and roam the area can even guide you if asked to the lake.
Wifi not that great could not get it on our laptop or phones but early days hopefully will improve with time. This was our second year and hopefully will return again soon.
Just perfect for a complete chill out and get away from everything. Beautiful scenery peaceful and lovely hosts
Very quiet location ideal for nature buffs, no good if you want nightlife.
Lovely lodge would stay here again
Fab weekend away, everything was perfect! the lodge was clean, beds were comfy and the location was great if your looking for something literally in the middle of nowhere. however, we had a few problems with our hot tub on the Saturday, we tried to contact claire and ross for a good few hours about this problem so that they could fix it but the communication was awful, we had a reply from them 5 hours later when we are already in bed! With this is mind the problem continued and they didn't come look at it so we could explain the problem, so we had to manage with the hot tub not fully working!
Wilf was the families dog, he was fab! he was very well behaved and didn't bother us at all while sitting outside!
Overall experience was ok
This lodge is a little gem nestling in the cornish countryside, tranquil and peaceful just what we wanted. We were very happy in this lodge and enjoyed the hot tub very much after some stunning walks and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Just one minor detail, could do with a few more kitchen utensils couldn't find a colander or potato peeler. That said we'll be back next year!
Booked as a last minute break with the children over Easter and it was fantastic. If you're looking for a busy, bustling holiday park then this probably won't be for you, but we wanted peace and relaxation - and from that point of view the location is idyllic.
The owner was lovely and available if anything was needed, otherwise we were left to enjoy our holiday in peace. The children enjoyed exploring the farm, seeing the lambs, walking to the lake accompanied by the farm dog, playing in the games room, spotting Bats at dusk etc.
The lodge itself was well designed and nicely furnished - the beds in particular were especially comfortable - both my eldest and I agreed that they were the kind of beds that were so comfortable you don't want to get up in the morning!
The only small improvement I would request would be a second baking tray for the oven and a couple of lids for the saucepans but these really are minor things. There is a communal laundry area where it would be useful for a sign explaining how much time each £1 of electricity will buy you so that you can put in sufficient and return to fetch it later rather than having to check if more money is needed but I'm being really picky now!
All in all, a last minute booking that was a real gem and excellent value for money - we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.
Excellent scenic location, the hot tub was fabulous. It was lovely to bring our dogs on holiday with us as well.
