really enjoyed our stay the weather was lovely which helps the only thing I could moan about is the swimming pool changing rooms there is not enough it gets really busy and you only have a 1 hour time slot we was waiting 20 minutes for a cubicle and also I complained about our bathroom sink leaking and toilet reported it and no one came so I reported it before we went home , my husband said security came pulled up outside the caravan and drove off , other wise it was lovely
lovely location and helpful staff. However, we were not informed that we had to pay extra to use the pool.
Thought it was a lovely site , the holiday home was ok, but the beds were terrible, like lying on a bed of springs. Got terrible back pain from sleeping on them. They could have done more for the kids , organised games etc. The staff in the bars could have made more effort with the guests. Did not come across, very welcoming. Overall , it is alright, but there has to be better .
It was really lovely the only thing I could say was that where the gun fair was there could be more little shops like crafts and nice things as it seems a bit of a waste of space and woman who go to these events don't always just want land rover things lol but over all perfect we love it there.
Our holiday was very enjoyable, a few useful tips! We collected our key from the there clubhouse called The venue which is just past the main gate on the left, the main reception is on the left just before the gate for any inquires. We paid a £40 deposit for our caravan when we collected our key, they said a few people had missed this info and were shocked when they were asked to pay - just a heads up. And this was back in may account within 3 days after we left.
The swimming pool had time slots running from about 9-5 and each slot was apx 90 minutes, we went up at the beginning of our week and booked all the days we were swimming, you could book 2 slots per day just not back to back.
We had a problem with our cooker just as we started cooking about 18:00, and the flame would not stay on which we contacted the site and they sent someone out within about half hour to fix it which was really good, but worth checking your cooker before dinner just to be sure :)
The site had a fair bit for he kids to do, the funfair was open from 11am but closes in bad weather, and adventure golf was good fun for all the family. There are a few play parks, they are fairly basic but kept the kids busy, is also worth if you have space taking scooters, football, bat and ball etc.
Overall we enjoyed our trip.
Adequate entertainment for kids, good variety in the fair ground. A few playgrounds around. Good for family fun day out.
We were disappointed that many of the facilities were not available or on during week days. The swimming pool was good but the changing rooms not as good as others for dealing with young children.
We arrived early and booked in which saved time on paperwork later, but could not pick the key up until 16:00.
Massive site good points there are 3 clubs on site if you want to drink kids club although can't say if any good as we did not use either a mini supermarket and as well as the main restaurant you have an Indian takeaway on site which was lovely fishing lakes mini go karts pedal boats so as a camp a few things to do bad points we stayed in a caravan and told it was between a silver and gold standard no it was at best bronze very tatty and old no laminate left on doors or even the table it was a 6 berth but had cutlery for only 2 and frying pan etc was so bad you couldn't even use it swimming pool has an extra charge and then if it's busy you can only book an hour slot per day which left kids disappointed if your camping be prepared to be very close to the next campers we found a few staff rude and unhelpful note you also need to leave a 40.00 deposit when checking in which eventually gets paid back to your account if no damage
not happy we had to wait for hour and a half for keys after booking in time and also not advised that we had to pay 40 deposit for key upon arrival
Double booked our caravan and none of the facilities were open. Wouldn't stay there again
Location is lovely however the caravan was poor. Dirty stains on carpet, curtain hanging off rail and generally shabby.
Caravan described for 6, but only 4 of most crockery and no stools for table. No cooking equipment-could not even warm up a meal.
Told things were missing as people 'pinch' them, but not replaced for us......why do we have to go without? Also not cleaned properly, found empty packet of cigarettes and USED cotton buds...yuck
Nowhere in the advertising were we told that access to the pool was limited to a90minute slot a day, very important when the children want to play at the site all day.
The caravan was fine for the cost of it and was clean on arrival so no complaints there.
The problem with this park is the entertainment for kids is very poor my boys are 11 and 8 and they asked to leave the entertainment was that poor.
Everything was pretty much closed after 1700 hrs go karting fair amusements ect the only thing that was open in an evening was swimming for a short while and the two bars not good enough during Easter holidays I didn't go there to sit in a bar every night with my kids might be someone's idea of a good time but not mine.
The cost of swimming is terrible it cost £26 for my boys to go swimming for a hour each day during the 5 day stay don't mind paying the money if they are allowed to stay in the pool a bit longer but for a hour I thought was expensive the go karting is well overpriced for what it is although my boys did enjoy it they wanted to be on it longer, also the shop on there is a rip off too the only thing that was good about the stay was the caravan we ended up travelling out to other places around Northampton for things to do as the park itself was very poor for my boys to do anything.
So basically if you don't mind sitting about in a caravan all day or travelling out a bit further to do things then I wouldn't recommend this holiday park to anyone.
On arrival, our caravan was falling apart. We complained, and were quickly moved. Most of the attractions at the park seemed to be closed while we were there, so can't comment on them. We were looking forward to using them, but, alas, twas not to be.
We would like to go back sometime in the future.
Stayed during off season so we could not fully enjoy all the park has to offer.
