This holiday was great as a base to tour Devon ideal for younger children or older couples.I thought it was good value for money, quiet and relaxing.10 minute walk to Brixham probably not the best place for the disabled holidaymaker as the site is quite hilly but great for hikers.
Accommodation was very dated and not really that clean. Also it's was extremely damp .every time we returned we had to open the windows for around 2 hours in order to clear the damp smell . However as soon as the windows were closed the smell returned . The accommodation requires a updating renovating and a good clean especially the carpets which were very dirty which I thunk was the cause of the virus the while family could one by one two day before we were due to leave.
Pity the place was soo hilly that restricted access as I am disabled
We had a wonderful time in Brixham, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the walks are beautiful, would definitely go there again.
What a brilliant location! So easy and dog friendly. I have already recommended to a friend. Only negative is no shower
The chalet we had was shabby in need of decorating, it was dirty, toilet was stained , there was no wardrobe in the bedroom and lacked electricity sockets, the bed settee was uncomfortable and lumpy, the smell of damp was overwhelming, as soon as you walk in the smell hit you. Our clothes stank of damp, we couldn't unpack as the one chest of drawers we had also was damp. It felt so unclean I stopped off at the shop to buy bleach.
Also, the chalet was very small and felt unwelcoming. There was no parking outside the chalet so had to carry our suitcases, when we packed up to come home we did park outside but was told off by management.
When I checked out I mentioned all of the above but the lady manager was still annoyed that we had parked on the path outside for five minutes when we were packing. Her words were " I dont care what you have to say and its best I leave now and we are not welcome back. "
It ruined my last day in Brixham. The only good thing about this park is its location and stunning 10 minute coastal walk to Brixham
We chose site as being listed as 'dog friendly' as it certainly was.
In fact the site site and Brixham itself were both very dog friendly there was hardly anywhere which didn't welcome dogs ( accompanied by their owners of course)
It made the whole visit very enjoyable indeed.
Outdated and poor entertainment.
Was very disapointed on arrival having travelled 400miles journey of 10 hours to find the chalet quality was Not what i expected from hoseasons reputation for quality the chalet was smelly very damp smell people on both sides of me warned me of smell before i opened door and had to upgrade to a caravan these chalets are really letting hoseasons reputation downs
We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again but not in the albatross chalet. The accommodation was adequate however as stated basic, we did find the accommodation was not the cleanest on arrival.
The chalet unfortunately had a smell of damp dog which was a shame as all our clothes had the smell on when we returned home. The chalet was large enough for 2 adults and a toddler however wouldn't think you could fit anymore people in comfortably.
The holiday park was small but ideal had a play ground for younger children.
The swimming pools were well located and the outdoor pool being heated was a bonus.
The staff we came across were lovely and friendly. They were all helpful and approachable which is the main reason we would return.
I would say my only big dislike of the park is that dogs are allowed in the clubhouse were food is served even though on the lead I didnt like this so chose not to eat in there again.
Its an ideal location for Brixham and good transport links nearby. I do think that the park maybe need to update the facilities as its starting to show signs of wear and tear. Also setting aside particular chalets specific to those bringing dogs with them to help with cleanliness.
Had a lovely time, first time away with my grandson, the walk to Brixham is lovely even the steps at the end, by the end of the week we were good at getting up and down with a pushchair. The pool was nice and warm and mum and baby were in there alot. Going away with dogs I find we are usually restricted at parks, but I loved the fact we could take dogs into the bar as long as they were good. Had a lovely relaxing time and enjoyed the quiet.
No warning of narrow access roads and of construction traffic passing close to entrance for construction project next door.
Beach access opposite entrance not appropriately signposted to indicate it is very, very steep and should only be used by very fit people.
A warm welcome on arrival and prompt response to a small problem with shower. The site was clean and well cared for, well lit at night.
I would recommend to friends and family that it was a lovely place to stay at! and overall the facilities wise for the challey we stayed in for disabled people it was excellent and we found the place quite charming and the views were fantastic yes I would most certainly look into booking there again!!!!
Quiet site in an excellent location. Full recommend staying here.
