We enjoyed our holiday and it was good value. The best thing was the location, we were well placed for Whitby, trips up and down the coast and inland for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Unfortunately the beds and the sofas at our holiday house had seen better days. The double bed dipped in the middle and the sofa covers were falling off. The holiday home was clean but well used, we couldn't see the settings on the cooker as they had worn away, and we couldn't get the DVD player to work.

Great holiday, the heating wasn't fully functional but the staff were very helpful.

The cottage was very clean and very comfortable and the layout with the bedrooms downstairs was good as this afforded excellent views over the river and old viaduct, the overall view was very positive and the only negative were the controls on the oven as the position markings for both thermostat and heat settings were missing (scrubbed out), and we could not find an instruction book, this made cooking a roast dinner very difficult as it took quite a long time trying various positions before we were able to get full heat. This is possibly illegal and I highly recommend that the owners put clear instructions near to the oven.

Lovely location an
Nd cottage but some of the furnishings a little tired

Good accommodation, although it is looking quite tired and could do with a spruce up.

Cottage lovely but could do with a bigger television also a bit short on kitchen equipment, but still had a lovely time.

Nice quiet position. Decor and furnishings a bit dated and shabby but clean and comfortable enough for the price.

Only crtiscm is that the accomodation could do with modernising and a new double bed needed as this one has clearly seen better days. Found quite a few spiders webs and carpet needs a good deep clean.

We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage (we had to set to work to clean the main areas ie bathroom and kitchen). It was also a little tired looking and could do with some upgrading, for instance the front of one of the kitchen drawers was damaged and broken, light fittings above the sink and cooker needed a good degrease and clean and the cooker definitely needed an industrial type 'blast' clean! That said we were comfortable, it didn't detract from our holiday and we very much enjoyed the peace and quiet it offered.

We had to clean the hob on the cooker it was filthy, and the markings for the knobs had worn away so we had to guess the temperatures and the operation whether it be grill or fan. The microwave would cut out half way through a cook even when you followed the specific instructions. The fridge was on a block of wood and wobbled. There was condensation in the windows which wasn't a good look. The toilet flush handle was coming out of the cistern, the hot tap on the sink moved round when you turned it on and off. The shower screen was glued down so getting in and out of the shower was very awkward and if you had the shower on high it flooded the bathroom because the screen wasn't long enough. Window locks in the double bedroom did not open with the key provided. Radiator in the hallway and top of the stairs didn't work. I left two colouring books and a pencil case full of pencils in the top left hand bedside drawer in the double bedroom and when I phoned three hours after leaving to ask them to send them to me I was told that nothing was found.
