All breaks for all arrivals
Great quiet place but still close to whitby, lovely surroundings and had a great time
décor could do with freshening up,3 light bulbs were blown on arrival, one caster on double bed was broken the same as it was last yearalso the b.b.q. on the green was no longer there.
Just spent a great week at captain cooks haven. This is a perfect place for families, its so peaceful and only 10 minutes walk into Whitby. We stopped in endeavour cottage number 6 down by the riverside. The cottage was home from home with everything you need.
We have been to this park a few times now. Very handy location so you can walk into Whitby in 15-20 minutes and leave the car behind!
Lovely area, everything outside clean and well looked after. Pool area could do with some updating and cleaning. Only thing letting it down is dated accommodation. I would return if this was addressed.
Lovely location, nice friendly staff, we'd visit again but avoid the caravan . Comfortable 20 minute walk into Whitby where there's plenty to do, shops, fossil hunting, crabbing etc. kids had a great time which is all you want from a family holiday.
accommodation was good, comfortable and very quite
Quiet and peaceful which is what we wanted.
Great site, lovely accommodation - lovely little pool and super helpful staff.
Lovely cottage place, only downsides were the cleanliness of the pool and the lack of wi-fi
We had a lovely holiday. The pool is beautifully clean and both the water and the changing areas are warm. The location is stunning, with commanding views over a very fine viaduct by a river with a 20 minute 'cinder track' walk into Whitby which is suitable for buggies. The staff are delightful, very obliging and helpful; the grounds are well-kept. The children's play area is tired and could do with new equipment.
Unfortunately, the cottage was not clean. The floor was sticky and covered in hairs. The wooden base of the mirrors was covered in thick dust, and worst of all, the bedding was full of hairs. As there was a launderette, I washed the bedding. Spoke to the maintenance guy and he gave me my money back that I had used to launder them.
The location was lovely, and the cottage was great apart from the cleanliness issue.
This is our 2nd visit to Captain Cook's Haven. We stayed in Captain Cook's cottage the first time and preferred this to the Endeavour Cottage. However Captain Cook's cottage was fully booked this year which is why we chose Endeavour Cottage. I think if you have children Endeavour Cottage is better as there were a lot of children playing out and there was a grassed area at the back of the cottage for children to play out. As far as the cottage is concerned it was looking a little tired and certain things needed repairing. The shower was far too low unless you were 4 feet tall or under! There are no amenities on the site, like a little shop or anywhere to eat, which I think the site is lacking, everything is 30 min walk away. But there are restaurants that will deliver to your cottage. There is a nice play area for children and swimming pool. We will definitely come back next year, but will be choosing to stay in another cottage.
We stayed in a lovely homely home. The cottage was furnished very well. The beds were comfortable. The surroundings are really picturesque, with the steam train running along the side of the River Esk during the day. It's a short distance away from the harbour, so that if you want peace and quiet from the town - this resort offers the best of both worlds. Peaceful surroundings where you sleep and "live" yet you are close enough for visiting the town or travelling further afield.
We are looking forward to visiting again next year.
Stayed for 7 nights in July and it was great close to all amenities but still quiet kids loved it park was great would highly recommend and will Definitely be going back
