Pretty location with the lake but limited access due to surrounding caravans. The club house and shop in poor condition. The "swimming pool" is too small and shallow to be able to do more than a few strokes.
The actual site was very nicely set out, but being put next to a caravan full of very noisy site workmen was not a pleasant experience.
We were disappointed to find the swimming pool closed for water treatment on our last day. We assume this was planned and did not find any signs to indicate this was going to happen and it was not mentioned by staff when we checked in. We had day trips planned for the week and had we known the swimming pool was going to be closed we would have gone swimming earlier in the week.
I would like to say that there was no linen in our caravan when we arrived and we ran out of gas in the week and both these issues were sorted promptly by staff.
This holiday was not worth the money we paid. The caravan was lovely however it was positioned in a location which looked like a building site with a skip full of rubbish right outside our window. The car park was always full up due to workers vans. The main walk way to the complex was very uneven and dirty. The swimming pool was so small the pool staff had to count everyone most the time to ensure it was not getting overfull. It was not how it was described in the posters around the site. There was not much option of food in the main dining room as they never re stocked after the Bank holiday. We will certainly not go again while it is like this.
Staff were very helpful especially when my daughter was struck down with a rash from the Brown Tailed Moth Caterpillar!! We would love to go back again.
Overall we had a wonderful time. The location is such that we were able to visit lots of local areas such as Hastings seafront, Drusillas Zoo and Theme Park. But when we decided to have a day at the park the swimming pool, park and bar were sufficient. I was happy with the pool but some of our group felt it could be better maintained, better changing facilities etc. Could do with something more on site for the kids and we would have stayed on site more. We were in a caravan very close to the bar which did mean it was loud at night. Must say the staff were very helpful when we asked for a bed guard for my 2 year old so that was a real plus. The on site shop needs a bit more too. All in all we enjoyed ourself and noting the pet facilities will ikely come back with my mum and her dog next year.
well apart from the building work at the back of us goimg on most of the time and the lack of douvets which i requested and phoned up about 2/3 times and never got and down at the swimming pool all the life guards outside smoking not to bad
Would stay again but without my 2 young children. Not enough things for them to do, 'adventure playground' was a huge disappointment. My 2 year old couldn't climb safely on the play equipment. No safe places for kids to run around, cars speed around the site with no thought of safety. Swimming complex was ok, but lifeguards insist on very very loud music so it feels like a nightclub. Not very clean either. Caravan wasn't cleaned from previous occupiers. Beer cans under the bed and used cotton buds on floor of bedroom. Would only stay again as a base to explore local area without children.
anice place fishing lake good very friendly people
dirty floors again !!! everything fine but floors simply not mopped 2nd time we stayed maids needs mopps
Should do more for the entertainment too much bingo should do karaoke on a few nights
The large site was a good as we had hoped for, simple but clean and cared for. My two boys 6 and 2 enjoyed the fishing, play park and pool, and my husband and I enjoyed being in the quiet surroundings. It was great to be so close to Hastings and its attractions, we would definitely visit again.
A very large site with a lot of caravans. The facilities, such as the pool and the shop were far too small to cater for the number of people.
Lack of facilities, narrow road leading to Coghurst Hall was suitable for traffic in one direction.
The roads in Coghurst Hall were muddy and struggle to find parking space. Not only that we were unable to park close to the caravan.
The dining hall/entertainment hall far too small for the number of occupants and struggled to find seating especially as the occupants remain seated most of the day for both dining and entertainment.
The flexible diner was not good value for money as it first appeared to be, but there was no reasonable priced restaurant in the surrounding.
